Sometimes it additionally requires restarting the laptop. Sometimes it only requires logging out of BT email, closing the Chrome browser, reopening the browser and logging back into BT email. To get Attach File to work properly again requires different actions each time. I usually click 'close the program', and then when it says 'please wait while we report this to Microsoft' I usually press cancel, then close the defective window. I then get a dialogue box asking 'close the program / wait for the program to respond'. Then, after just a second or two, the window greys out and in the title bar at the top it says 'Google Chrome is not responding'.

When attaching files to an email I'm composing in my BTinternet email account, (by clicking the Attach File button in the compose email header) I would normally get a pop-up window showing me a Windows File Explorer folder view and allowing me to browse to and select one (or more) files to attach, and I then click the 'Open' button to upload and attach the selected file(s) to the draft email, before sending.īut sometimes the pop-up window freezes, showing me the files in the most recent folder, but not the usual folder structure in the left-hand margin, and not letting me select any file.
